Our Mission
St. Brendan’s Anglican Mission, Anglican Church of North America, is blessed with the mission furthering the gospel by refreshing those that lead missions, churches and diocese. Ordained and Laity. (ACNA as a priority, but as available, will serve other provinces/denominations).
Our Time and Place
- St. Brendan’s after 10 years of use is no longer located in Olsen Chapel on the shores of Bass Harbor.
- Like all shore front real estate on Mount Desert Island the owners have bowed to the pressure of an increased market value that no church can match and have sold it for a non church use.
- We have a small chapel under construction during summer 2026 and it will be collocated with our guest cabin & our vicar's residence, to be finished fall of 2026 in Southwest Harbor, located on Mount Desert Island, Maine.
- Our services are to be open to and geared for all visitors. Contact us for details.
- Our compound will be open by reservation for free week long residence retreats by clergy and lay leadership families (ACNA as a priority) starting again for summer 2027. Feel free to contact us to make reservations.

LOCAL? JOIN US IN WORSHIP... BECOME A MISSIONARY AT HOME
Although at ST. Brendan's serving the seasonal visitor is our major mission and we are much smaller in the colder months, we worships the year around. We encourage Acadia area residents from all denominations to worship with us every Sunday, either in person or by Zoom and consider joining our small local missionary team of hosts/hostesses. You are encouraged to take the opportunity to serve and take on the Lord's commission alongside us. You are invited to come in and check us out. Or call/text/Email for more info
